Our groups

The Nucircle Hiking Group.

Monthly hikes in and around the UK. Coastal paths, city walks and day trips out of London. Mostly beginner to moderate.

Why we walk.

This country is quietly beautiful and most of us never slow down enough to notice. Between the chalk cliffs and ancient woodlands, the coastal paths and the pub at the end of a hedgerow lane, there is more within a train ride of London than a lifetime could cover.

There is a Japanese idea called ma. It is the pause between notes, the empty space that gives everything else its meaning. Walking together has something of that quality. You are not performing a conversation. You are simply moving through the world, side by side, and the silences are part of it. That is how strangers become less like strangers.

Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Every day I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts.

How we stay connected

The WhatsApp group.

We have a WhatsApp group for hikers. It is where we share upcoming walks, meet at the start point, and keep in touch between hikes. You are very welcome to join.

What the group is for

  • Hike announcements and event details
  • Meeting points and logistics on the day
  • Photos from walks and shared memories
  • Chat and questions about upcoming hikes
  • Suggestions for routes we have not done yet

What the group is not for

  • Personal chats not connected to our hikes
  • Private events not organised by Nucircle
  • Promotions or events from other organisations
  • Political or religious debates
  • Sharing personal contact details in the group

Quiet is okay too

Not everyone likes busy group chats, and that is fine. You can stay quiet and just show up when we walk. The group is there for you, not the other way around.

A little WhatsApp etiquette

  • Be kind and respectful to everyone in the group
  • Keep messages relevant to the group
  • If you want to connect with someone privately, do that privately
  • If something does not feel right, message us directly

Want to join? Send us a WhatsApp message with your name and we will add you to the hiking group.
