Our groups

One Culture One Month.

Every month we pick a culture and go deep. Food, music, films, ideas, and a live event where we experience it together.

London is made up of people, stories and cultures from all over the world. You could live here your whole life and barely scratch the surface. One Culture One Month is our way of going a little deeper. One culture, one month, one community doing it together.

How it works

  • Every month we pick one culture to explore together
  • Members share music, films, recipes, history and ideas in the WhatsApp group throughout the month
  • At the end of the month we come together for a live event in London to experience the culture in person
  • Then we move on to the next one

Why we do it

We believe the world gets richer the more of it you understand. Not a tourist glance, not a stereotype. A real look at how people live, what they love, what shaped them, and what they share with you. Every month is a small step towards knowing the world a little better and the people in it a little more.

Right now

How we stay connected

The WhatsApp group.

We have a WhatsApp group where the monthly exploration happens. It is where members share what they are discovering and where we keep in touch between events. You are very welcome to join.

What the group is for

  • Sharing music, films, recipes, reads and ideas about the culture we are exploring
  • Event announcements and logistics
  • Photos and thoughts after the live event
  • Chat and questions throughout the month
  • Ideas for which culture to explore next

What the group is not for

  • Personal chats not connected to what we are exploring
  • Private events not organised by Nucircle
  • Promotions or events from other organisations
  • Political or religious debates
  • Sharing personal contact details in the group

Quiet is okay too

Not everyone is a big contributor to group chats, and that is absolutely fine. You can read along, enjoy what others share, and just turn up on the day. The group is there to help you get more out of the experience, however you like to engage.

A little WhatsApp etiquette

  • Be respectful of the culture we are exploring. We are guests in someone else's story.
  • No sweeping generalisations or stereotypes presented as fact
  • Keep it in English so everyone can follow
  • If something does not feel right, message us directly
